The Carbon Trust has launched a Green Business Fund to help small businesses undertake energy efficiency upgrades, including improvements to lighting, heating, and building control systems.

Carbon trust fundThe £7 million fund is expected to help between 1,000 and 2,000 businesses deliver projects and is available on a first come first serve basis. New services also on offer from The Carbon Trust include energy saving training, cost saving assessments, implementation advice and capital support.

Eligible companies can apply for a capital contribution to cover up to 15 per cent of an energy efficiency project, up to a maximum of £10,000.

Hugh Jones, managing director at the Carbon Trust commented “Our experience of working with thousands of companies across the UK indicates that year-on-year savings of 20 per cent to 30 per cent can be delivered through action on energy efficiency.”

Help to reduce energy costs

These recommendations are then submitted to the Carbon Trust on your behalf if you agree with them. If your application is successful, the cost of installation is then paid by the Carbon Trust and paid back by the reduced energy consumption.
