Our Portable Appliance Testing Services
An inventory will be created of all portable appliances in use within your premises; each will be assigned a unique asset number. Portable Appliance Testing and inspection will be carried out as follows;
- Visual inspection for damage (outer casing, lead, plug etc.)
- Check fuse size
- Test for earth function, insulation resistance, polarity and function
- Label item appropriately
Your Portable Appliance Testing report
The results of our inspection and testing will be recorded on the appropriate forms and issued in the form of a PDF document or an Excel spreadsheet. Appliances will be issued with a PASS/FAIL label detailing their respective item reference number, test date and location. Any FAIL items will be immediately removed from service pending repair/disposal.

Why test portable appliances?
The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 dictates that all businesses are obliged to keep all work equipment in a good state of repair and in efficient working order. For this reason, annual PAT testing is the best way to ensure that your business meets its legal obligations whilst ensuring safety for your workforce and compliance with any insurance conditions.
When should portable appliances be tested?
It is generally accepted that annual PAT testing is best suited to meeting your Health & Safety obligations.
What happens after the PAT testing?
Following the issue of your PAT report, we will provide you with a separate quotation for any repairs where possible.
